From the open mics of South Birmingham to a sold-out hometown show at Birmingham Symphony Hall, The Lost Notes capture a landmark night in their journey on their new album, Live at Birmingham Symphony Hall, released on 5 August 2026.

 

Recorded on 4 February 2026 at Birmingham Symphony Hall, Jennifer Blackwell Performance Space in association with B:Music, the album captures The Lost Notes doing what they do best: performing original songs rooted in Americana, folk and country, with the warmth, humour and energy that have made their live shows so engaging.

 

For this special performance, the core line-up of Ben Mills (vocals, guitar, harmonica, trumpet and piano), Oli Jobes (vocals and guitar), Lucy Mills (vocals and ukulele), Maxim Tomlinson (drums) and Pete Churchill (double bass and accordion) was joined by an exceptional group of special guests.

Acclaimed jazz pianist Piera Onacko brought another dimension to the band's sound, while Rebecca and Simon Rosellys, of celebrated UK Americana act The Rosellys, contributed banjo, vocals and fiddle. The evening also featured a special appearance from volunteers from The Choir With No Name.

 

The result is a live album that captures much more than a collection of songs. It documents the connection between a band and its audience, the spontaneity of musicians playing together and the atmosphere of a night that represented a significant milestone for The Lost Notes.

 

The album features 17 original songs, including Holding On, Whiskey for Breakfast, Don't Try It on Me, A Fool Once Told Me, Head Over Heels, Run Like a River, God Loves a Sinner, We Don't Need Another Love Song, No Place Like Home and Take My Hand.
